Spidey had been dangling over this owl’s head for hours but the owl just bobbed up ‘n down preening and Spidey made a run for it.
Looks like Spidey came back and continued its web building …
Spa! Starrbuck!
Now Tomato pile!
What a show! My first time seeing live, she is still there. ;-))
So precious, happy Friday, have a fun and safe weekend everyone!
Good to hear from you Ruth. Hoping all goes well. Have a great weekend.
Good Morning everyone! Nice to start our day with two snoozing in the Ritz… plus spiders.
Happy Friday! Hopefully, it is going to cooler day, high predicted 85F at SR and 90F for me in Temecula today. Wishing all a wonderful day! ;-)
Good morning everyone! Have a wonderful Friday! Patti
Two screeches in quick succession from the cavity, and shortly thereafter the stop-out male returns :-D
You – hoot … where are you???
Aww, she continues to wait on the lip :-*
Back into the cavity, resigned to be left on the shelf again today :'(
Mega anthropomorphism!
(:-)). Glad the second Owl returned.
Pistols at dusk – but one didn’t like the odds:
Ribbit – Ribbit. :D
♥
Rribbiitt! ;-))
She’s still on the lip :o
Still on the lip and she just screeched once.
Cleaking… owl on branch office… … she’s come to lip to greet…
“He” is still stood standin’ on the lower branch office, just looking around. “She” is a leg and bit of wing filling up the cavity cam, and a dear little head poking out of the cavity entrance, not cleaking any more.
He’s on the upper branch office now.
FLOWN !!! !!!
One Owl is in the Ritz. Missed the arrival.
Return 0219hr:
So, I’m actually on this late and there’s no action that I can see. I say “hi” to anyone on this late. I hope you’ve enjoyed your evening and I’ll see you in the morning. Patti
Re the Hooded Oriole that Tecolote spotted – I may have missed it altogether, or I may have misidentified it here, as I’ve said that this is a female Scott’s Oriole followed by a male:
Haven’t seen the Velvet Tree Ants in some time. Seems like it’s been hot when they’ve been active before, but maybe they are just active thru late Spring? Have spiders been spotted lately? Now, we get more Owls, deer, bats, and frogs, but less of other creatures. Almost always something, though. Thank you Starr Ranch and Pete, and all the other workers and volunteers at Starr. Well done.
I saw the ants either yesterday or the day before, Lynn, they were on the right wall of the cavity while an owl was standing near to it. Not as many as there used to be. It really registered with me as I hadn’t noticed them for a long time… but I was trying to do something in particular and it slipped my mind to mention them or snap them or vid them >:(
I’m off to bed now, see y’owl later :-)
Thanks for pointing out they are still around, Scylla. I’ve just been on at the wrong times.
This is our barn owl leaving, as described below – then an owl flies into the far tree, stays about 3+ minutes, then flies above the cam, shaking the PTZ view. I haven’t seen it fly off but it could have.
I’m trying to edit “Storm over Savannah”, it’s been spectacular.
Therefore I don;t know who this is or where they came from, will check asap:
That is a great photo capture! You spoil us, and we love it. ;-) Off to bed for me…;-/
Our owl is now on the lip :-*
A wing-stretch on the branch office… waiting, looking back… a bit feather-shake!
Heehee, I could see “bit” as soon as I hit Post Comment. You know what I mean ;-) She’s still hanging around.
She left while I was trying to snap the mule deer.
A few minutes ago, I watched someone replenish the dear deer’s greens pile. Now StarrBuck is gratefully dining on them. Pete, you are a most generous caretaker for all the critters under your purview. Thank you.
This was all I could manage, by the time I twigged and got the cam going in Chrome on the multi-cam page. I don’t think this is StarrBuck, I think someone else must have taken over – they left a few seconds later.
Great pic thx Scylla as owlways
Nice!
Bats leaving.
One Owl, three bats awaiting the night. Should be cooler tomorrow, maybe down to 87° F. at Starr. I’m hoping for a day below 90°F.; we’ve been mid to high 90’s for long enough.
Owl is preening.
I too, am hoping for a cooler tomorrow. Good evening, and happy hunting to all, whooo hunt! ;-)

Nice job Scylla, with an assist by Tecolote.
